Worst timing ever – foot pain

Remember how I said the other day that my right foot started hurting on the treadmill? It started hurting again during this morning’s run but it eventually started feeling better by the end.  However, when I went to leave for class and it hurt to walk.  Not good.

That is roughly the area that I have been feeling the pain.

My mom is helping me set up an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon through the doctors office she went to back when she had a stress fracture.  They don’t have anything available until Monday though. 

This is so hard to figure out what to do.  I don’t want to damage it further; however, I don’t want to miss the race on Saturday.  At least I’ll be able to go to the doctor before the 8 mile race I have planned for April 3rd.

Right now, I barely feel any pain at all when I walk.  I’m taking that as a good sign. 

I’m not going to make a decision about this weekend right now.  I think I’m going to do a little more research about what could be causing this before I decide.

My mind automatically goes to “stress fracture,” but I’m not a doctor.  Hopefully, it’s something simple and easy to fix.

  1. mmm cheese and carbs. Just the way I like it! I really hope your foot gets better. I bought Dear John because I want to see the movie, but haven’t read it yet. I’m letting my mom read it first since I do not have much time for reading! I really hope to get the RA job next year just to see what it’s like. I think it’d be a fun experience and the free room and board will be nice. If I don’t ever get it, no big deal. I’ll still have a fun time and won’t be as stressed!

    • Um… December 29th 🙂 gotta love having a blog to keep track of that! I honestly don’t think it’s the shoes. It’s possible though. Why thank you! I’ve been trying really hard lately to take good food pictures 🙂

  3. If it still hurts on Saturday, don’t do the race. It’s not worth it to make it worse! I hope they figure out what it is on Monday!

    • It hasn’t been hurting this evening so I don’t think it’s going to hurt again before the race. I’m just hoping it doesn’t start hurting DURING the race 😦 I hope so too! I’ll definitely keep you posted on what I find out!

    • The monument 10k is the one Saturday. I’m not sure if I’ll still be able to do the 8 miler next Saturday 😦 I’ll have to see what the doctor says next week before I decide that. Thanks 🙂
