Up and running

As I mentioned, I was slacking pretty hard when it comes to running.  Yesterday, that finally changed.
Distance: 2.65 miles

Tuesday (today):
Distance: 4.05 miles
Let’s not talk about the time.  Today’s run wasn’t exactly ideal.  The temperature was 29 degrees when my dad and I left — Long sleeve jacket, short sleeve shirt, gloves, warm headband.  Well, by the time we got back around to the neighborhood, I was carrying my jacket, gloves and headband so I just threw them on the ground so I could grab them on our way back.  That’s when the wind started up. The stupid little wispy hairs that aren’t long enough to reach my ponytail were flying in my face, making me a not so fun running partner.  I was cranky and just not feeling the run by that point; however, I was glad that I was running.  Unfortunately, I wasn’t so happy that my nose was trying to keep up with our pace by running like crazy (not that our pace was good, it was actually pretty horrible).  All of this was bearable though. Once we turned the corner to head back to the neighborhood, the wind was blowing so hard that I was trying my hardest not to cry due to how cold I was.  Caitlin wrote a post recently about banishing the word failure and I tried my hardest to follow her advice and not get upset.  Yeah, well that didn’t work.  I ended the run with me bursting into tears and saying “I’M FREEZING!” when my dad turned around to see what was wrong.  Thankfully he ran up ahead of me to get my extra layers but by that point, the run was over.

Some major hot tub time was needed (and enjoyed) once we got back.

In addition to yesterday’s run, I also did the ab portions of the 30 day shred 🙂

Tomorrow – I’m going to a fun new workout class with my mom!  It’s a surprise, so you’re just going to have to wait and see!
Any guesses/suggestions?

P.S. – I have some yummy food pictures for you!  They’ll have to wait though since I have work in 7 minutes and haven’t gotten dressed for work yet!
